Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing Scholarship For Post-RN Baccalaureate Students
Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing
Scholarship for Post-RN Baccalaureate Students was established
in 2002 to recognize one post-RN student with a clear vision
of what their further education means to them. The scholarship,
valued at $2000.00 USD, will be award to the post-RN student
who can demonstrate, through references and a personal essay
on "How has entering your post-RN degree changed your view on
nursing as a whole or in your personal practice?."

Instructions
Completed
applications and supporting documents for this award must be received by the
VIER by November 10. No applications received after this date or incomplete
applications will be considered.
Terms of the Award
- The
award is available to post-RN baccalaureate students registered in a nursing
school with current membership in the CNSA.
- The
student must be working toward a baccalaureate degree.
- Selection
will be based the personal essay, with attention paid to academic excellence
and references.
- The
applicant must submit an official transcript of his or her marks to date with
the application.
- The
candidate must successfully complete the academic year in which the application
is made.
- The
applicant must provide two letters of reference. One should be from an
instructor and one should be from either an employer or nurse manager.
- Current members of
the CNSA BOD are not eligible for the award in their year of office.
Application Forms
A completed application shall contain:
1. Name
of applicant 2. Current
address and telephone number of the applicant 3. Permanent
address and telephone number of the applicant (if different from current) 4. Name
of the member school they attend 5. A
current resume which includes:
a. a
list of activities undertaken by the applicant during their post-secondary education
b. all
employment and extra-curricular activities, including but not limited to CNSA,
community organizations, and student government
c. the
name and description of any other previous awards or recognition received
6. An
essay, answering the question: "How has entering your post-RN degree
changed your view on nursing as a whole or on your personal practice?"
This essay should be no more than 750 words. The recipient's essay may be
published on the CNSA website and in the Connection. 7. Official
transcript 8. Two
letters of reference 9. The following
statement, signed and dated; "I [name] agree to the terms of the Sigma
Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society Scholarship. I further believe
all statements in my application to be truthful. In signing this statement, I
also give permission to CNSA to publish my essay on the CNSA website and in the
Connection."
