Canadian Association of Nephrology Nurses and Technicians.
The Canadian Association of Nephrology Nurses and Technologists (CANNT) provides leadership in nephrology care by promoting excellence in nursing and technological practice through education, research, and communication. Our vision is to be the keystone of excellence in nephrology nursing and technological care across Canada. CANNT offers members valuable opportunities for collaboration and networking through regional networks and special interest groups. Members also gain access to a range of educational resources, including the Vascular Access Education Program (VAEP)—developed by the Ontario Renal Network (part of Ontario Health) in collaboration with the ORN Cannulation Working Group—to enhance provider knowledge on the assessment and management of hemodialysis vascular access.
In addition, CANNT provides access to educational webinars, hosts a national annual conference, and is continuously working to deliver meaningful value to its members. The Journal is open access and can be viewed here: CANNT Journal. As a CANNT member, you’ll also have opportunity to contribute to our quarterly publication, the CANNT Journal. This peer-reviewed journal highlights excellence in nephrology nursing and technology through articles focused on current trends, clinical practice, education, and research. CANNT provides open access to the following: CANNT Standards of Nursing Practice, CANNT Standards of Technical Practice, CANNT Vascular Access Guidelines - The Nursing Recommendations for the Management of Vascular Access in Adult Hemodialysis Patients 2023 Update has been endorsed as a consensus statement by the Canadian Society of Nephrology / Société canadienne de néphrologie.
