Land Acknowledgment
The Canadian Nursing Students’ Association (CNSA) acknowledges that our National Office is situated on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabeg Algonquin Nation.
We recognize the Algonquin people as the traditional and ongoing stewards of this land, whose presence here reaches back to time immemorial. We honour their enduring connection to the land, water, and community, and we acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonization that continue to shape the realities of Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island.
As nursing students and future healthcare professionals, we are called to uphold the principles of reconciliation through meaningful action; by learning from Indigenous knowledge systems, advocating for culturally safe care, and working toward equity and justice in health and education.
We invite all who engage with CNSA to reflect on the lands they live, study, and work upon, and to consider their responsibilities in building respectful relationships with Indigenous Nations and communities.
