Indigenous Caucus Chair - Alicia Pongracz

My name is Alicia Pongracz. I am Haida from Old Massett Village. I am of raven moiety. I am from the killer whale clan. I have a passion for learning, health, and social justice. In my spare time, I enjoy attending webinars, reading, hiking and running in the beautiful, traditional, and unceded territory of the Sinixt, the Sylix, the Ktunaxa, and the Secwepemc peoples of Nelson, British Columbia. I hope to continue increasing Indigenous nursing students’ recruitment, representation, and retention. I hope to do so by building on traditional and Western knowledge and strengths, acknowledging and addressing areas of concern, and empowering students to maintain their health, well-being, and connection with culture throughout their education journey. I look forward to collaborating and connecting with fellow board members to achieve these goals. I believe every person, every experience, and every lesson is integral to progress and success.
